Japanese designer Issey Miyake launched his eponymous fashion label in 1970 and entered fragrance in 1992. L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme followed in 1994 and became one of the defining masculine signatures of the late 1990s and early 2000s, helping shape the modern aquatic-aromatic genre alongside Davidoff Cool Water.
