Mäurer & Wirtz 4711 Eau de Cologne 200ml Splash is one of the oldest perfumes in continuous production anywhere in the world — a sparkling unisex citrus-aromatic born in Cologne in 1792, and effectively the original Eau de Cologne. The seven-ingredient formula has barely changed since: lemon, orange, bergamot, lavender, rosemary, petitgrain and neroli, layered into a fresh, head-clearing splash that feels as good after a hot day as it does after a long flight. The 200ml splash bottle, with its blue and gold label, is the version generations of customers have kept on the dressing table.

About 4711

4711 takes its name from the address of the founder Wilhelm Mülhens' house in Cologne's Glockengasse, numbered when French revolutionary troops occupied the city. According to brand legend, the recipe for the original "Aqua Mirabilis" was given to Mülhens as a wedding gift in 1792. The brand has been part of German fragrance house Mäurer & Wirtz, based in Aachen, since 2006.
